Ayurvedic View of Joint Problems
According to Ayurveda, an oldest system of health care, Joint pain occurs due to the aggravation of the Kapha and Vata dosha. Most of the joint pain occurs due to the accumulation of the ama (toxin) in the joints. There are some of the factors such as unhealthy diet, doing heavy exercise, work overload, and the excessive use of alcohol that are responsible for the accumulation of the ama in the joints. In such condition, by managing the causative factors and by reducing the amount of ama from the body, we can manage the ama in the body. There are some ways to reduce the Ama from the body:
- Always take warm and easily digested meals.
- Follow an ama reducing diet.
- Ghee or flax seed oil is beneficial for the cellular intelligence. And hence, these must be included in your diet.
- In place of White sugar, unprocessed, raw honey should be used, as this raw honey helps to scrape away ama from the body.
- Dairy products such as ice cream and cheese should be strictly avoided.
- Bowels should be emptied regularly and colon should always be clean.
